AMENDMENTS TO FEDERAL BANKRUPTCY RULES AND FORMS EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 1, 2012

Under the Rules Enabling Act, 28 U.S.C. § 2071-75, amendments to Bankruptcy Rules 1007, 2015, 3001, 7054 and 7056 take effect on December 1, 2012. Under 28 U.S.C. § 2074(a) and the Supreme Court orders dated April 23, 2012, the amendments will govern all proceedings commenced on or after December 1, 2012, and all proceedings then pending "insofar as just and practicable."

At its September 2012 meeting, the Judicial Conference approved a recommendation from the Committee on Rules of Practice and Procedure to amend Official Bankruptcy Forms B7, B9A-B9I, B10 and B21.
