Chapter 12 of the Bankruptcy Code expired July 1, 2003. Pending cases, as well as all matters or proceeding related to those cases, will be conducted as if Chapter 12 did not expire.

The House of Representatives passed the Family Farmer Bankruptcy Relief Act of 2003 (H.R.2465), to temporarily extend Chapter 12 from July 1, 2003, for six months. To date, the Senate has not acted on this bill.
