On November 13, 2000, the President signed into law the "Federal Courts Improvement Act" which contains provisions affecting bankruptcy fees, which includes the followng:
- The filing fee for Chapter 9 bankruptcy filings has increased from $330 to $830.
- The fee for converting a Chapter 7 or 13 to a Chapter 11 has increased from $400 to $645. This increase amount is the difference between the statutory filing fee for a Chapter 11 and the statutory filing fee for a Chapter 7 or 13.
These increases were effective November 13, 2000.
